HyperSound is a HyperCard stack with an interface resembling a portable audio cassette player/recorder. Features include sound file indicator, output level,
input level, sound file name, sound file details, record button, play button, reverse button (goes to the previous sound file if available), forward button (goes to the
next sound file if available), erase button, quit button (exits to the desktop), create Home button, MacRecorder connection selector (modem and/or printer port),
sample rate settings (5KHz, 7KHz, 11KHz, 22KHz), copy sound to stack, a button to open SoundEdit, and a button to go to the HyperCard Home Card.
SoundEdit is an audio recording and editing application program featuring a document window with waveform display, a bar for typing labels at the selection
point, a toolbar with record, play, waveform zoom, input level, spectrum analysis buttons, mono or stereo file, sample rate, displays for cursor position, selection,
waveform length, and loopback location. Other features include revert to saved version, delete file, undo, clear, select all, edit label, no loopback, set pitches, set
mixer input, set mixer output, display options, display waveform as dots or lines, recording options (sample rate, compression, mono/stereo, connection ports),
user options, remember options, sound effects (amplify, backwards, bender, echo, envelope, filter, flanger, FM synthesis, noise, ping pong, silence, smooth,
swap channels, tone generator), show clipboard, show mixer, and more.
The MacRecorder is a HyperCard-based presentation that summarizes the major purposes of HyperSound, SoundEdit, and demonstrates how to record in
stereo using two MacRecorder hardware units.
MacRecorder Applications is a HyperCard-based presentation that offers examples that MacRecorder might be used for, such as teaching languages, home
education, personal messages, and more.
The MacRecorder hardware unit is required to record audio in HyperSound and SoundEdit and apply special effects in SoundEdit.
